Translation being

In the in-situ installation Translation being, three translation creatures playfully depict the essence of translating and transcribing. Represented in the media of drawing, sculpture, and sound, they describe and circumscribe the process of creating an audio description.

The elements of the installation, arrangeable into ever new configurations, illustrate the flexibility, sensitivity, and creativity inherent in and required for this task and the great responsibility it embodies. The sound layer emphasizes the careful and gentle approach; the large-format mural clarifies and illuminates the environment.
